Guide to Stitching Vintage Roses

Guide to Stitching Vintage Roses
This is a digital download of my guide to stitching vintage roses which includes an image, a guide to how to get the image onto your fabric, a suggested colour palette, ideas for what stitches to use as well as some helpful tips.
If you know my work you’ll know I am obsessed with stitching florals.
I’m never aiming for an accurate botanical likeness but more to capture the essence of the bloom. I do this with colour, stitch placement and by observing the form of the flower to communicate it with thread.
I hope that this guide can help support your creative practice and give you some simple tips that I use for every flower I stitch but particularly for Roses.
This might also help you to create your own floral designs by using the techniques outlined.
As always with my kits / guides / projects I encourage you to take this in your own direction. Explore and play.
Taking time to create is such a lovely way to nurture yourself and your creative soul. It’s time to slow down, relax and enjoy the process.
If you stitch a piece please share it with me on socials by tagging @fleurwoodsart
